Detailed Itinerary for the 8 Days Wildlife & Cultural Safari

Day 1:  Travel to Arusha national Park from Kilimanjaro

Aloyo Safaris’ professional driver guide will pick  you up from the Kilimanjaro International Airport, after when you will be briefed about your  8 days Tanzania Luxury Safari. From here you will be transferred  for dinner and a restful night before beginning your safari the next days.

Day 2: Journey to Arusha National Park.

Following your morning breakfast, the driver-guide will  pick you up, after which you will set off for Arusha National Park. Upon reaching the park gate, you will have to finish all the registration formalities, thereafter you will be assigned  a route of your choice as well as a ranger guide for your safety for your forthcoming walking safari.

From here, you will together set off to explore what this small but magnificent park has to offer today and how far you might want to walk, depending on your physical strength. The ranger guide will explain every detail, you would wish to ask and learn about the park, from the deep holes dug by aardvarks, to how an acacia tree emits a warning scent to other acacias among others.  By chance, you might also encounter zebras, duikers, giraffes and hippos.  The black-and-white colobus monkeys are a common species in the park, whereas, egrets and sacred ibis can often be sighted in the skies. Not forgetting the stories of some tree species like the aptly named strangler fig, which sucks the life out of other trees. Chances are high that you might also  encounter warthogs and buffaloes, often seen together.

Besides if you still have enough physical strength, then, you can  you might have the opportunity to visit one of the park’s spectacular waterfalls, including Tululusia, as it plummets 30 metres beneath the rocky ground.

At the your morning walk, the driver will pick you up for lunch and later on,  take you through the beautiful remaining features the park has to offer including Mount Meru towering above the Momela Lakes, the montane forest area and the  formed crater of Ngurdoto.

Return back to your reserved luxury lodge in Arusha, where you will have dinner and an overnight rest.

Day 3: Transfer To Tarangire National Park

Wake up early for breakfast, thereafter you will depart with the driver guide for a 2 hours’ drive to Tarangire National Park. While driving, you might see some Maasai herdsmen grazing their flocks of goats to greener pastures, and upon arrival in the park, you’ll begin your game drive across a rich vista of endless golden savannah that surrounds the Tarangire River.  This vast park is known Elephants’ play ground due to the largest number of elephant herds in the park. Besides you will also spot buffalos, lions, gnus, zebras and gazelles and the park can rival Serengeti for abundant wildlife. You can also look out for kudu and oryx,  agama lizard( especially a male one who changes color in front of you according to the temperature) Or a hyrax-popularly known as pimbi, an insignificant-looking creature of around 30 cm in length…who astonishingly is related to elephants! The park is also ahome to some birds like the lilac-breasted roller or superb starling, as well as Ostriches.

The Park is also well known for its baobab trees dotted all over the park , rolling savannah and acacia woodland.

You will have lunch in the park, whereas dinner will be served at the reserved hotel where you will rest overnight, after the evident day.

Day 4: Journey to Lake Manyara

On this day 4 of the 8 days Tanzania Luxury safari, you will drive to Lake Manyara National Park after your heavy breakfast for an exciting full day game drive, which includes a picnic lunch. The park is located within the Great Rift Valley with different evergreen forest that offer an ideal home for olive baboons, monkeys, big families of elephants, tree climbing lions, and African cape buffalos. Enjoy your lunch, after which you will proceed with your game drive to the open woodland areas where you will spot giraffes, hippos and flamingos. Drive to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Visit Lake Eyasi (HADZABE AND DATOGA VISIT)

Wake up early for breakfast, then head out to explore Lake Eyasi. You’ll commence your experience by visiting the local bushman (Hadzabe) to learn about their hunting-gathering way of life before joining them in a simulated bow and arrow hunt. Thereafter, you’ll spend quality time with the Hadzabe-Africa’s traditional ironsmiths, as you observe how  they use charcoal ovens to smelt iron and steel from local ore and get to know the relationship that these two ethnic groups have.

You will later on break off for lunch then drive to Karatu for the preparation of the next day adventures.

Dinner and overnight at your luxury lodge

Day 6: Drive to Serengeti National Park Via Ngorongoro Conservation area

On this day 6 of the 9 days Tanzania Luxury Safari , you will head to Tanzania’s oldest and vast UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites – the Ngorongoro conservation area, where you will get up-close and personal. This perfect multiuse site is one where man, livestock and wildlife live together in harmony out of the many Parks the world has to offer. You will bypass a traditional Maasai village where you’ll have the chance to experience the culture and way of life of its nomadic people. You’ll be warmly welcomed by the Maasai and get an incredible connection looking at their handmade houses and unique traditional dances, then proceed to the central Serengeti national park’s hotel/ lodge with an enroute game drive.

Day 7: Full day Game drive

On this  day 7 of the 9 days Tanzania Luxury safari, you will have a full day of game drives in the park, wher you have to choose from three options.

First, you may opt for an early morning game drive then come back for mid-morning breakfast,  then return for another game drive with picnic lunch and drving back back for dinner.

Or Leave after morning breakfast, return forlunch then leave for an evening game drive coming back to the hotel for dinner.

Otherwise, you might opt for early morning breakfast, head for a full day game drive with picnic lunch in the wild then comes back in the late evening. There will be no limit in spotting animals at all animal, but instead you will see various game including giraffes, impalas, warthogs, and hippos. You might also see cheetahs, hyenas and jackals among others.

Overnight at your luxury Lodge.

Day 8: Explore the Ngorongoro Crater

You will wake up early for breakfast, and later proceed to the Ngorongoro crater with enroute game viewing in the southern plains of the Serengeti. The driver guide will descend into the crater for a game drive with a picnic lunch. Among the 8th Wonders of the World, the crater is a very important home numerous wildlife including big bulls of elephants and the vulnerable black rhino species. The crater is also home to large herds of wildebeests, zebras, thomson and grant gazelles, hippopotamus, African cape buffalos, prides of lions, hyenas, serval cats, golden and black backed jackals, as well as more than 400 bird species. You will have lunch in the crater, then  drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Depart for Arusha

Wake up for your breakfast, relax by the pool for a while, and then  journey back to Arusha/ Kilimanjaro for drop off or scheduled flight.
