2024-2026 Park Entrance Fees For Mgahinga Gorilla National Park

Mgahinga Gorilla National Park Entrance fees for 2024-2026 are charges set by the  Uganda Wildlife Authority to foreign-resident tourists (USD) , foreign-non resident tourists (USD), Ugandans & East African residents among others, in order to access Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, for any of its activities, including Mountain Gorilla Trekking, Golden Monkey tracking, Bird watching, Volcano climbing, Gorge walk, guided short nature walks for children, Golden Monkey habituation experience,  Mgahinga platform view…

Each Mgahinga Gorilla National Park entrance fee issued is valid for at most 24 hours, from the time of entry, beyond which is an additional day. The fees are independent of Mgahinga Gorilla National Park’s package activities.  All tourists accessing the park, must submit their valid identification documents (IDs or Passport), to  affirm resident status, age and children below the age of 5, are denied access to the Park.

Foreign Non Residents at $40 USD per Person, Foreign Residents at $30 (USD) per person, Ugandans & Other East African Citizens (Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, South Sudan) at shs.20000 (UGX)

Park Entrance Fees For Children- Maghinga Gorilla National Park

Foreign Non Residents at $20 USD per Person, Foreign Residents at $10 (USD) per person, Ugandans & Other East African Citizens (Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, South Sudan) at shs.5000 (UGX).

Ugandan School  going pupils & Secondary Students in groups are charged shs. 3000 (UGX). Per person

Tertiary Institutions/Universities pay  shs. 5000 per person,

Uganda Wildlife Club Students  are  shs.2000 Per Person

Annual Park Entrance Passes to Mgahinga National Park

All annual Park Entrance passes to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, are subjected to only Ugandans and East African Citizens,  and excludes Vehicle entrance fees, which is also paid separately.

While Foreign Residents must acquire a valid work permit for a full year to qualify for an annual pass, which doesn’t qualify for park activities  including Mountain Gorilla trekking, Golden Monkey tracking, mountaineering, nature walks among others.

Individual

A foreign resident individual pays an annual park entrance pass of $350 (USD), and shs. 350000 (UGX) for East African Citizens.

Couple

A foreign resident couple pays an annual park entrance pass of $600 (USD), and shs. 500,000 (UGX) for East African Citizens.

Family at most 4 children

A foreign resident Family pays an annual park entrance pass of $800 (USD), and shs. 600000 (UGX) for East African Citizens.

Annual Corporate Pass of 10 Passengers

A foreign resident individual pays an annual park entrance pass of $1500 (USD), and shs. 2,500,0000 (UGX) for East African Citizens.

While Safari guides are subjected shs. 200000 (UGX), per person, taxi driver at shs. 150000 (UGX) per person and a tour company driver is excepted.

Vehicle Entrance Fees

The entrance fee for all vehicles to Mgahinga gorilla National Park are charged per day for 24 hours, apart for the concessionaire visitors vehicles, who are charged once per trip in the Park, motorcycles, trailers,  vehicles with inflammable goods, livestock, sand, market merchandise, poles are denied access to the park.

Foreign Resident Saloon Cars pay  $40 (USD) per day and shs. 20,000 UGX for East African Citizens (Uganda, Kenya Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Congo, Southern Sudan).

Foreign Resident Minibuses, omni-buses  pay  $50 (USD) per day and shs. 30,000 UGX for East African Citizens (Uganda, Kenya Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Congo, Southern Sudan).

Foreign Resident Pick Ups pay  $50 (USD) per day and shs. 30,000 UGX for East African Citizens (Uganda, Kenya Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Congo, Southern Sudan).

Foreign Resident Tour Company Vehicles & 4 Wheel Drives pay  $150 (USD) per day and shs. 30,000 UGX for East African Citizens (Uganda, Kenya Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Congo, Southern Sudan).

Foreign Resident Over Landers pay  $150 (USD) per day and shs. 100,000 UGX for East African Citizens (Uganda, Kenya Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Congo, Southern Sudan).

Foreign Resident Buses & Lorries pay  $200 (USD) per day and shs. 200,000 UGX for East African Citizens (Uganda, Kenya Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Congo, Southern Sudan).

Foreign Resident Construction Equipment Vehicles pay  $350 (USD) per day and shs. 500,000 UGX for East African Citizens (Uganda, Kenya Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Congo, Southern Sudan).

School buses pay  shs. 50,000 UGX while delivery vehicles are charged 20000 UGX per entry.

Aircraft Landing Fees Per landing

Glinders, microlights for foreign residents are billed $10 (USD), per landing and shs.20000 (UGX) for East African Citizens(Uganda, Kenya Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Congo, Southern Sudan).

A maximum of 3 seater aircraft for foreign residents are billed $20 (USD), per landing and shs.40,000 UGX for East African Citizens(Uganda, Kenya Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Congo, Southern Sudan).

4 to 6 seater aircraft for foreign residents are billed $30 (USD), per landing and shs.40,000 UGX for East African Citizens(Uganda, Kenya Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Congo, Southern Sudan).

7 to 14 seater aircraft for foreign residents are billed $50 (USD), per landing and shs.80,000 UGX for East African Citizens(Uganda, Kenya Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Congo, Southern Sudan).

15 to 20 seater aircraft for foreign residents are billed $50 (USD), per landing and shs.100,000 UGX for East African Citizens(Uganda, Kenya Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Congo, Southern Sudan).

21 seats and abover seater aircraft for foreign residents are billed $60 (USD), per landing and shs.120,000 UGX for East African Citizens(Uganda, Kenya Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Congo, Southern Sudan).

Helicopter for foreign residents are billed $125 (USD), per landing and shs.250,000 UGX for East African Citizens(Uganda, Kenya Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Congo, Southern Sudan).

Per Day Parking is shs.10000 UGX, landing fees without entry fee to be paid by passengers, and pilots en-route do not pay entry fees, in case they spent less than 2 hurs in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.

Mountain climbing fee is charged per day (24 hours), and it includes entrance fees, while platform viewing fee excludes tents, porter and cook fees
