This 3 days Mount Kenya climbing starts from Nairobi to Chogoria gate through Meru Bandas to Lake Ellis at 3650m on day 1, then Mintos at 4985m on day 2, day 3 ascends up point Lenana at 4985m and drops down to either Eliss or chogoria gate, where you can be picked and drive back to Nairobi.
The Chogoria route/trail is the most recommended route for climbing Mount Kenya to Lenana Point. It is regarded as the most remarkable ascent route to Lenana Peak and the driest route as it passes through the Gorges and Valley which are undoubtedly spectacular, as well as the beautiful Lake Elis, Lake Michealson & Nithi River.

Detailed Itinerary for a 3 days Mount Kenya Climbing Chogoria route/trail
Day 1 NAIROBI – CHOGORIA – MOUNT KENYA
An expert safari guide from Aloyo safaris will meet you at 7:30 am in either your hotel after breakfast, or at the airport on arrival. He will brief you about the on going 3 days Mount Kenya climbing adventure along Chogoria route, thereafter you will set off for Chogoria town, arriving in time for lunch and meeting the guides, porters who will accompany you through your Mount Kenya hike. You will then proceed to Chogoria park gate for registration, after then you will begin your hiking up to 9km to Lake Ellis. After which you will proceed up through the glades of Montane forest to Lake Michaelson, where you will stopover for photography, while enjoy the breathtaking scenery. It is at this point that you will follow the trail through the giant heater to Mintos Hut at 4300m for dinner and an overnight rest
Day 2: Mount Kenya summit (Lenana Peak)- Lake Ellis(3600m)
Before dawn, you will rise up for hot coffe with energy snacks, then in a warm hiking gear, you will start hiking up through the square Tarn to Lenana Peak at 4985m, which is the third highest peak of Mount Kenya. After celebration moments at the peak, begin descending to Mintos for breakfast, then after descend downwards to Lake Ellis for dinner, and an overnight.
Day 3 Depart For Nairobi
Following your early morning breakfast, descend gently to Chogoria Park gate, where you will meet our driver guide who will return you back to your Nairobi accommodation for dinner and an overnight.
