On this 3 days Chimpanzee trekking Safari, you will visit Nyungwe Forest National Park, a natural home to chimpanzees, golden monkeys, Angola colobus, vervet monkey, silver monkey, red tailed monkey, grey-cheeked mangabeys and the olive baboon. You will spot a variety of bird species, an opportunity to see several bird species and have an opportunity for a canopy walk along a 200m bridge, suspended high above the forest.

Detailed Itinerary For the 3 Days | Chimpanzee Tracking Safari Rwanda
Day 1: Arrival & Transfer to Nyungwe Forest national Park
You will be picked by our Company driver guide from the airport/hotel, who will brief you about your 3 days Rwanda Chimpanzee tracking Safari and Canopy walk in Nyungwe Forest national Park. You will then be transferred by road for 5 to 6 hours to Nyungwe Forest National Park. On arrival, in case you still have time, you may proceed for a nature walk around Gisakura tea estates.
Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking & Canopy Walk
On this 2nd days of the 3 days Rwanda Chimpanzee tracking safari, you will be transferred, after a very early morning breakfast, to the park headquarters for a briefing ahead of chimpanzee tracking.
Chimpanzee trekking may last up to 6 hours including 1 full hour of meeting face to face with chimpanzees, as you watch them do their daily activities.
You will track chimpanzees and will have a chance to spot other primates like the golden monkeys, troops of Angola colobus, vervet monkey, silver monkey, red tailed monkeys and the Olive baboons among others. You will also spot various bird species like the great blue turaco, the long tailed blue bird and the paradise fly catcher among others.
After the chimp trekking, you can return for lunch at the lodge, and later on return for the afternoon canopy walk, along a 200m bridge, suspended high above the tropical rainforest of Nyungwe National Park.
You will have an aerial view of the forest enabling you to spot birds and more of the primates feeding on top of the trees or jumping from one tree to another.
Day 3 Journey back to Kigali
You will depart for Kigali after breakfast with an optional colobus monkey trekking tour or visit the Rwanda National Museum at Butare, Visit the royal king’s palace, . You will have lunch in Kigali.

What are the rules and regulations for Chimpanzee tracking?
Don’t visit the Chimpanzees if you have a cold, fever or illnesses of any sort
Human waste should be buried beneath the ground about 30cm (12″) deep
At most eight persons are allowed to visit each Chimpanzee family
When you are with the Chimpanzees, maintain a 7m-10m distance from the gorillas
Smoking, eating and drinking are not allowed when with the Chimpanzees
If you must sneeze or cough cover your face and turn away from the Chimpanzees, as they are susceptible to catch coughs and colds from humans
Visits are limited to one hour per gorilla group per day, per trek
Do not use flash camera for photography.
