Detailed Itinerary for 3 days selous game reserve fly in Safaris
Day 1: Zanzibar – Selous Game Reserve – Afternoon River Safari
Depart Zanzibar at 8:00am or 9:30 am on a 1 hour flight to Selous game reserve via Dar es Salaam. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by Aloyo Safaris driver guide who transfer you to the lodge for check in & lunch. Thereafter, you will be taken for a sunset boat cruise on a comfortable river boat, where you will see hippos, crocodiles, and many bird species while enjoying the spectacular sunset over this wide river.
You will later return to your tent/camp/lodge for dinner and an overnight
Day 2: Jeep Safari in Selous Game Reserve
Grab a cup of hot coffee or tea, very early at dawn, and proceed to the reserve. As dawn breaks, you shall see & learn more about the wild game, like; lions, elephants, giraffes, buffalos, zebras, and other rare wild species such as the African hunting dogs. Selous game reserve also offers an extensive population of bird species, spectacular scenery, with different topography including wetlands, dry grassland, light acacia forest and higher ground with scenic views t of the mountains.
Settle for your bush lunch, while relaxing under a shade adjacent to any water source so as to enjoy viewing animals coming to quench their thirst. You will then head back to the lodge by 6.30 pm for sunset view and dinner, plus an overnight rest.
Day 3: Walking Safari then to Zanzibar
Go for an early morning walk through the bush along the riverbank of Rusizi to explore & discover more about the local environment. Return for breakfast at the camp/lodge, after which you will checkout and depart for Dar es Salaam by road or Zanzibar by flight.
