4 Days Olmoti & Empakaai Crater Hiking Detailed Itinerary

Day #1: Arrival in Arusha & Transfer to Nainokanoka Village.

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) and meet your trekking guide. Enjoy a scenic drive to Nainokanoka village (approximately 4-5 hours), the starting point of your trek. Meet your Maasai guides and porters. Begin a short afternoon hike to a scenic campsite near Olmoti Crater. Enjoy dinner and overnight in tents.

Day #2: Olmoti Crater Ascent & Maasai Culture.

After breakfast, hike up to the rim of Olmoti Crater, accompanied by Maasai guides who will share their knowledge of the local flora, fauna, and cultural significance of the area. Descend into the crater floor, often grazing with Maasai livestock. Enjoy a picnic lunch before returning to your campsite. Spend the evening interacting with the Maasai community.

Day #3: Empakaai Crater Rim Hike & Descent.

After breakfast, drive to the Empakaai Crater rim. Enjoy a breathtaking hike along the rim, offering stunning views of the emerald lake within. Descend into the crater for a closer look at the lake and its birdlife (optional). Hike back up to the rim and transfer to a campsite near the crater.

Day #4: Highland Views & Transfer to Arusha.
