Upon reaching the Kihihi airstrip or Kisoro airstrip, You will meet a driver guide who will transfer you by road to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, then after, take the second flight to Kisoro , you will connect by road to Kibale Forest National Park .
This 5 days gorilla trekking and Chimpanzee tracking itinerary fly in Safari allows you to meet face to face with the Mountain Gorillas and Chimpanzees in their natural homes in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Kibale Forest national Park in Uganda.
We will pick you up from Entebbe International Airport or your preferred accommodation in Kampala/Entebbe, in private customized 4 x 4 Land Cruiser Jeep and transfer you to the domestic airport for your flight.
Detailed Itinerary For the 5 Days Gorillas Chimpanzees Fly-in Safari
DAY 1: Domestic flight to Kihihi or Kisoro Airstrip
on your day 1 of the 5 days Gorillas & Chimpanzees Fly- in adventure, an Aloyo Safaris professional & experienced driver guide will pick you up from either your Hotel or Entebbe International Airport or Kajjansi Airstrip and transfer you to your scheduled charter internal flight to Kihihi Airstrip(For the Northern and Eastern Parts of the park) in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park or Kisoro Airstrip (For the southern part of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park). Upon landing, our driver driver-guide will transfer you to your respective overnight Lodge in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
You may choose between flying in the morning or in the afternoon. Morning flights leave for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park at 7:45am from Entebbe while afternoon flights departs at 12:30pm. For the southern part of Bwindi NP, there is only one morning flight that departs Entebbe to Kisoro Airstrip daily at 7:45am. This is due of the strong winds in this region. Internal flights to Bwindi NP take up to 90-120 minutes depending on the schedule of the day.
DAY 2: Gorilla tracking Experience in Bwindi Forest National Park
Wake up early for your breakfast. Along with your packed lunch, you will be transferred by the driver guide to the Park headquarters for registration and join other trekkers in a briefing about the rules and the regulations during your Gorilla Trekking at 7:45 am.
You will be led by an experienced ranger guide to trek through thick creepers and undergrowth to search for the Gorillas, which can take you 2 to 8 hours of the day. The steeply forested landscape is magnificently thick but crisscrossed by various animal trails allowing access to tourists.
On finding the gorillas, you will be allowed to interact with them for 1 full hour, after which you will return to the headquarters for your certificates.
It is an awe-inspiring feeling being with these beautiful yet endangered Creatures.
DAY 3: Domestic flight to Kasese Airstrip and Drive to Kibale Forest National Park for overnight.
After your morning breakfast, Our driver guide will drive back to Kisoro/Kihihi for a flight to Kasese Airstrip, where you will again be picked by your driver guide and drive to Kibale Forest National park for overnight.
Drive time: Approximately 1-2 hours
DAY 4: Chimpanzee Trekking and Community walk
After breakfast, you will drive to Kibale National Park Headquarters for briefing about Chimpanzee trekking & tracking rules and Regulations.
You will be assigned a small groups of 8 people headed by one experienced ranger guide with whom you will walk into the forest to find one of the Chimpanzee families. Chimpanzees live in communities comprising of 50-150 individuals but usually breakup into small parties during the day to reduce competition on food. They will then gather together in the evening to build their nests.
