6 days Umbwe route
6 days Umbwe route: This 6 days Kilimanjaro Umbwe route is the most stiff with shortest and straight routes to the Southern Glaciers, Western Breach and Uhuru Peak.
It is the most beautiful, quite challenging route on Kilimanjaro. However, it is quite demanding, basically due to the faster ascent to higher altitude, but worth rewarding.
The Kilimanjaro trekking route is quite steep & is suitable for experienced trekkers, due to the fast ascension that does not provide ample time for acclimatization which calls for walking at a slower pace.
Since the route is less congested, the success rate to reach Uhuru peak is less unless an extra day for acclimatization is added. The route can be accomplished in 6 days, although we highly recommend 7 days . This route connects with Machame route, Lemosho & Shira route.
Duration: 6 – 7 days.
Difficulty: Very High
Scenery: Very good
Traffic: Very low
This route is not frequently used, except for those with extensive mountain climbing experience.
