On this 6 days Rwanda Primate safari,  in Volcanoes National Park, and Nyungwe national Park. On this 6 days Rwanda Primates safaris, you will  reach Volcanoes National Park for Gorilla trekking  and golden monkey tracking at $1500 and $90 per person respectively.

You also have the opportunity to visit the Iby’Iwachu Cultural Community, where you can participate in their cultural dances, hunting, making local brew among other activities.

The safari ends by tracking Chimpanzees  at $90 from Nyungwe Forest National Park.

Detailed Itinerary of the 6 Days Rwanda Primates Safari

Day 1: Pick-up & transfer to Volcanoes national park

Be prepared to be met by Aloyo Safaris company safari driver guide who will pick you from the hotel, very early in the morning, or from the airport, after then brief you about your 6 days Rwanda Primate safari to trek gorillas, golden monkeys and chimpanzees in their Natural home.

He will then transfer you to Volcanoes national Park, with an enroute Kigali tour to visit sites like: The Kigali genocide memorial site, the crafts shop, some markets, malls, then head for lunch in any restaurant within the city.  After lunch, you will be driven to Volcanoes in the North Western Uganda, where you will arrive in the evening at the Lodge for dinner and an overnight.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking

Very early in the morning you will have breakfast, after then depart for briefing at the Park headquarters, where the ranger guide will place you in a group of 8 people to go gorilla trekking in the light montane forest of Volcanoes national Park.

Gorilla trekking may take between 2 to 8 hours, with a compulsory hour of staying meeting face to face with the gorillas, after which you will return to the Lodge for lunch.

After your delicious lunch, you may have an optional Ibyi wacu community walk or stay relaxing at the lodge, dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 3: Golden monkey tracking and transfer to Lake Kivu

Following your morning breakfast, you return to Volcanoes national Park for golden Monkey. Like Mountain Gorillas, you will be briefed about the regulations for golden Monkey trekking, there after you will proceed with the park guide to trek Golden monkeys for about 2 to 5 hours with only 1 hours viewing the primates. Return to your lodge for lunch.

The safari guide will then transfer you to Rubavu town at the shores of Lake Kivu where you will spend your afternoon enjoying the shores while taking boat rides to the island of the lake.

Dinner and overnight stay at your reserved hotel

Day 4: Transfer to Nyungwe national park

Following your delicious breakfast, The safari guide will drive you to Nyungwe forest national park in 6 hours, from Lake Kivu with lunch en route.  You will arrive at the park early afternoon and connect for a canopy walk along 50 meters in length that is suspended from large trees. You will be able to glimpse the amazing rainforest at a bird’s eye view, sighting wildlife moving below you. You will then connect to your reserved lodge where you will have dinner and spend a night

Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking

Wake up early for breakfast, and head for briefing about chimpanzee trekking before entering the forest to look for them.  Chimpanzee trekking may take about 2-6 hours including 1 hour meeting face to face with them, because they are quite difficult to spot as they jump from one tree to another as they shy off from people. You will then return to your accommodation for lunch.

After lunch, spend the rest of your evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight at either of the chosen lodges

Day 6: Return to Kigali and Departure

Rise up early on this days 6 of the 6 days Rwanda primate Safari, have breakfast and depart for Kigali. In case you missed a city tour on day 1, then the driver guide will transfer your to Kigali, where you visit the markets, handicrafts shop visits, genocide museum visit.
