Detailed Itinerary For the 7 Days In Burundi Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival-Pick Up
You will be met by your private driver guide at Bujumbura International Airport, who will drive you to your booked accommodation. Take a sometime to relax and head for a bujumbura city tour to visit the Hero-mausoleum & Unity Monument, explorers Memorial in the suburbs where several explores such as Livingstone & Stanley met, Belvedere which displays a spectacular view of the entire Lake Tanganyika, and the Islam Culture Center.
Return for an overnight in Bujumbura.
Day 2: Transfer-Rusizi National park
Breakfast will be served, after then you will be driven to Rusizi National Park, where you will lookout for hippos, sitatungas (antelope) and several birds species drawn to the wetland environment.
Return to the hotel, after the excursion, to relax, then followed by dinner and an overnight.
Day 3. Waterfall Visit-Burundi National Museum
Day 3 of the 7 days Burundi safari itinerary leads to “Chutes de la Karare” also named Karare falls, then after head to Gitega in the afternoon to visit the Burundi National Museum, before arriving for dinner in at your hotel/lodge.
Day 4: Discovering Bujumbura on city tour
After an early breakfast, you will visit the grave of Prince Louis Rwagasore, a celebrated hero, following the Burundi Independence. Then after, you will proceed for a “Belvedere” climb to the top of the hill, a magnificent point in Bujumbura, offering a breathtaking view over Lake Tanganyika. Enroute, you will have lunch, on a 10km drive to “La Pierre de Stanley et Livingstone” the monumental stone celebrated to be the ancient meeting point of Explores, Stanley, Dr Livingstone, and the legendary Scotsman.
Day 5: Transfer-Ruvubu National Park
Head out to Ruvubu National Park, after an early breakfast. Ruvubu National Park is the largest conservation area, located opposite Nyungwe national Park in Rwanda. The park offers hiking adventures & magnificent views. After the hike, return to your hotel for dinner and an overnight
Day 6: Kibira Forest National Park-Lake Tanganyika
Have breakfast, and embark on another adventure of visiting Kibira Forest National Park for a walk in the forest where you will view different bird species and monkeys.
Then after travel back to Bujumbura to arrive at Lake Tanganyika to unwind at Saga Beach with entertainment by Burundi Drummers while. Incase you still have time, you also proceed for a boat tour on the Lake Tanganyika, which can be organized upon early request to enjoy the calm wavy waters with a revitalizing breeze. Lucky swimmers, can also swim at the lake shores.
Day 7: Bujumbura City Tour-Departure
On the 7th day of 7 days Burundi Safari Itinerary, you will checkout of the hotel, after the morning breakfast, then proceed to the crafts shop to purchase a few souvenirs, then after to Bujumbura International Airport.
