Detailed 8 Days Rwanda Safari To Nyungwe Forest & Volcanoes National Park
Day 1: Transfer To Nyungwe National Park
On day 1 of the 8 days Rwanda safari, you will be met by Aloyo Safaris driver guide, who will pick you up from the airport or hotel, thereafter, he will brief you about your 8 days Rwanda Safari around the 2 famous Rwanda National parks of Nyungwe forest national park, and Volcanoes national Park.With him you will visit the Genocide memorial at Gisozi, Kaplaki craft market and other local market , visit Hotel Rwanda and have lunch in the city. After here, you will proceed to Nyungwe Forest national Park with an enroute visit to the presidential palace, the ethnographic museum at huye and later proceed to Nyungwe forest national Park.
Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking & Canopy Walk
Following your breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters for Chimpanzee trekking regulations at the park headquarters. In a group of 8 with the park guide, you will head to the forest track chimpanzees for about 2-6 hours, including 1 full hour of close connection with the chimpanzees, Return to the lodge for lunch, then head for your 2-3 hour canopy walk.
Retire at the lodge for you r dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Colobus Monkey tracking drive to Nyungwe Forest
After your delicious breakfast, head for the Angolan colobus monkey tracking , where the park guide will lead you into the forest for colobus monkey trekking . Each of the colobus monkey groups consists of about 200 individual monkeys, which creates room for more playful experience with them as they play, feed, groom among others.
Like chimpanzees, you also maintain distance of 7m, with a full hour golden monkey trekking experience before setting back to the lodge for lunch, and later on check out.
This morning again we leave for the briefing point at the Nyungwe forest. After briefing, the ranger guide will lead you into the forest for the Colobus monkey trekking. One of the habituated troops has more than 200 individuals so you can look forward to experiencing playful interactions of the monkeys as they groom, feed and play for each other. You are allowed 1 hour in their presence before you set back to the lodge for your lunch break. the trek back.
Day 4: Lake Kivu boat ride
In the morning, enjoy your delicious breakfast and transfer to lake Kivu, where you will have lunch and head for an afternoon boat ride at the Lake, where you will enjoy impressive views of the wildlife, bird species among others, afterwards you will visit the Fishing Village. Dinner and overnight at the lodge
Day 5: Volcanoes National Park
We leave for Volcanoes national park after breakfast., as you enjoy the scenic views, numerous sights and winding roads in the land of a thousand hills. You will have chances to have various stopovers for pictures and stretching depending on your needs.
Day 6: Gorilla trekking & Iby’Iwachu Cultural Village
Following your early morning breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters for briefing about the regulations of gorilla trekking while trekking and when with the gorillas, thereafter you will proceed to the light forest to trek the mountain gorillas in a group of 8 with a park guide. It will take you 2-5 hours to trek the gorillas, and when you find them, you will spend at most 60 minutes in their presence, then head for lunch, and later on visit the Iby’Iwachu cultural village for an exclusive cultural experience
Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight.
Day 7: Mount Bisoke Hike in Volcanoes National Park
Early breakfast at your hotel, thereafter head for briefing at the park head quarters. Since it is a tough and strenuous hike, it may take a full day, which therefore requires packing enough food, water and a porter to help carry your luggage.
You will then be transferred to the trail head to start your hiking excursion. Later on return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight
Day 8: Golden monkey tracking and Departure
Wake up early for breakfast, after then head for briefing, where you be guided about the do’s and don’ts of golden monkey tracking. The tracking will take 3-4 hours after which you will head to the Kigali Airport.
