Detailed Itinerary For 9 Days Kenya Safari
Day 1: Pick up-Transfer to Samburu National Game Reserve
On the day 1 of the 9 days Kenya safari to Aberdare, Samburu, Ol Pajeta, Lake Nakuru and Masai Mara, you will be pick up early in the Morning by Aloyo Safaris driver guide from either the Hotel/Airport. He will brief you about the tour, then transfer you to Aberdare National park in a 4×4 customized jeep with pop up roof, arriving in time for Lunch at the hotel.
In the afternoon, embark on a game drive, where you will see; The Black Rhinos, Leopards, Baboons, Black and white Colobus Monkeys, Sykes monkeys, Golden Cats, Lions, Forest Antelops among others, not forgetting bird species such as the Sparry hawk, sun birds, plovers, Goshawks, Jackson’s Francolin, Sparry Hawk out of the 250 birds recorded in the Park.
Dinner and Overnight at the Lodge
Day 2: Aberdare ransfer to Samburu Game Reserve
Have breakfast, the proceed to Samburu game reserve with an enroute game drive as you exit Aberdare national Park. Arrive for check-in at the lode and Lunch, thereafter you will head for the afternoon game drive in the reserve.
Animals to look out include Lions, Buffaloes, Generuks, giraffes, zebras, Dik-diks, Waterbucks, Elephants, Zebras, Grants gazelles, and cheetahs among others.
While Birds including King fishers, eagles, Somali Ostriches, Guinea Fowls and vultures are also found in Park out of the 350 registered species.
Return in the evening at the reserve for dinner and Overnight
Day 3: Full Days Exploration
On this day, you will wake up early in the Morning for game drive, where you will explore the Open grasslands, through the different habitats like the steep hills, thorny scrubs red dirt and dry riverbeds and rocky out crops.
The park is also rewarded with spectacular forests, springs and Rivers, which also makes it the home of crocodiles, giraffes, and leopards
Lunch will be picnic, while Dinner and Overnight at the lodge when you return in the evening
Day 4:Transfer to Ol Pejeta Conservancy
On this day 4 after breakfast in the Morning, you will set off for Olpejeta Conservancy, a 3264 square Kilometer wildlife conservancy, that’s nestled between the edges of Mount kenya and the Abadares. It is renown for having 1000 large mammals and the only place in Kenya to spot both the “Big 5” and Chimpanzees.
Besides the above attractions, Ol Pejeta is also a destination where you find the fastest growing population of Rhinos with about 80 Southern Rhinos plus 2 of the Last remain Black Rhinos.
Reach for check-in at the hotel in the hotel, then after proceed to Sweetwaters game ranch to spend more time with rescued chimpanzees.
Besides day game drives, other activities to participate in are game walks, horse riding, camel rides and night game drives
Dinner and overnight at the Hotel.
Day 5: Transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park
Proceed to Lake Nakuru national Park, after your breakfast in Olpegeta, arriving in time for lunch for Check-in at the Hotel/Lodge/Camp.
In the afternoon, head out for game drive and bird watching to spot many wildlife like Black and white Rhinos, Rothschild Giraffes, Lions, Elephants, waterbucks, Buffaloes, Baboons among others
The park also has also recorded more than 400 bird species including the Lesser and greater Flamingoes.
Return for dinner and overnight at your accommodation
Day 6: Transfer to Masai mara National Reserve
After breakfast, depart for the famous Maasai Mara national reserve with an enroute morning game drive as you exit the National Park. By Lunch time, you will be in the Lodge.
A short game drive will be conducted in the afternoon. Animals you will encounter are the; zebras, Lions, Jackals, Wildebeests, spotted Hyenas, Jackals, Buffaloes, gazelles, Lions, Impalas, Hartebeests, Elephants, Hippos etc, as well as more than 600 species of birds
Day 7 & 8. Full day Masai Mara
After breakfast, carry your packed lunch, and leave for the full day game drive around the park and at the Mara river.
Animals you expect to see frequently are the Zebras, Wildebeests, impalas, Grant’s gazelles, Elephants, buffaloes, Worthogs, Topis among other harbivores and the birds.While predators include crocodile(at the Mara River), Cheetahs, Lions, Leopards.
In addition to game drives, chances are high that you might witness the “Great Migration” if you visit the Maasai mara national reserve during the Months between July and early November.
Dinner and overnight rest at the Lodge
Day 9 : drive to Nairobi
Have breakfast at leisure in the morning and depart Masai Mara for Nairobi. You will arrive in the afternoon, where you will either proceed to the airport or dine and sleep in one of the hotels.
