A Detailed 6 Days Serengeti Ngorongoro & Manyara Tanzania Camping Safari

Day 1: Arusha – Lake Manyara National Park

The Serengeti Ngorongoro Manyara Tanzania camping Safari in begins with a pickup from your hotel or lodge in Arusha, followed by a drive to Lake Manyara National Park for an exciting game viewing experience. Lake Manyara, situated at the base of the Great Rift Valley, is a stunning national park within the Northern Tanzania safari circuit. Its dramatic location and diverse habitats draw a wide array of animal species, including elephants, giraffes, zebras, hippos, buffaloes, and numerous bird species, such as flamingos. Tree-climbing lion cabs from Lake Manyara can be observed napping on acacia tortilis branches following a satisfying meal. You will pause for lunch at one of the picnic sites and enjoy additional game drives before heading to the Karatu area for the night.

Day 2-3: Karatu To Northern Serengeti National Park

Following breakfast, you will embark on an early drive through the farming lands of Karatu and past the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You will then descend into the vast plains of the Serengeti, arriving at Nabi Gate in the afternoon. During your journey, you will enjoy an en-route game drive as you make your way to the Northern Serengeti, reaching your destination around sunset or slightly before. During these two days, you will embark on game drives at Lobo, Bologonja, Kogatende, and the Mara River, where you may witness the spectacular river crossing of the migration. This event features herds of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles, alongside predators such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, jackals, and a myriad of birds of prey that accompany the Great Migration.

Day 4: Central Serengeti – Seronera

After breakfast, considerable time is spent preparing for the migration before driving to the central Serengeti.
Serengeti National Park is renowned for its thriving population of resident wildlife, especially the “big five,” which are recognized as the five most sought-after trophies by hunters: The Serengeti is thought to have the largest population of lions in Africa, largely because of the plentiful prey species available. This ecosystem is home to over 3,000 lions. African Leopards: these elusive hunters are often observed in their natural habitat.

During your visit, you will observe the wildebeest migration, and with a bit of luck, you may witness a kill in action. An evening meal followed by a night at your prearranged lodging.

Day 5: Transfer To Ngorongoro Conservation Area

This morning, following breakfast, you will embark on a game drive in the Serengeti and later proceed towards Ngorongoro via the Nabi gate. You can choose to visit either the Masai boma or Olduvai Gorge (at an additional cost) before proceeding to your reserved accommodation at the Crater rim of Ngorongoro.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Following an early breakfast, you will descend 600 meters to the crater floor for an exceptional game drive. Ngorongoro Crater, often called the 8th wonder of the world and the Eden of Africa, hosts a remarkable variety of animal species. The annual water supply from the crater rim supports flourishing vegetation and attracts a variety of wildlife, including both large and small animals such as buffalo, zebra, hippos, rhinos, elephants, and cats like lions, leopards, cheetahs, jackals, and hyenas.

A one-day game drive in the crater offers the chance to witness the Big Five, with a packed lunch served on the crater floor. In the later afternoon, you will either drive back to Arusha for the night or be dropped off at Arusha Airport or Kilimanjaro International Airport.
