10 Days Rwanda Primates Fly In Safari allows you to visit  Volcanoes National Park & Nyungwe Forest national Park  for gorilla trekking, Chimpanzee tracking, canopy walks, colobus monkeys & Golden Monkey tracking. This 10-day Rwanda Fly-In Safari will occur in Rwanda, with arrival and departure through Kigali International Airport. You will appreciate panoramic aerial sights of Rwanda while using aircraft transfers from Kigali to Misty Volcanoes National Park, Gisenyi, Nyungwe National Park, and returning to Kigali. You will trek both the Great Apes and the mountain gorillas. Witness gorillas and golden monkeys at Volcanoes National Park, explore the Rwanda-DRC border to engage in many aquatic activities on Lake Kivu, trek with chimpanzees and colobus monkeys, and experience a canopy walk in Nyungwe National Park.

Detailed Fly-in 10-Day Rwanda Gorilla Safari

Day 1: Arrival

Upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport, complete immigration procedures and go to the arrivals area, where you will meet your driver-guide who will transport you to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 2: FLIGHT FROM KIGALI TO MUSANZE / VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK

Following breakfast at the hotel, you will be transported to Kigali International Airport for your  flight journey to Musanze, where you will meet your driver-guide who will escort you to your lodge. Lunch and dinner at the Lodge.

Day 3: GORILLA TREKKING

Following an early breakfast at the lodge, you will continue to the park headquarters for a briefing, after which you will drive to the trailheads, starting point of your remarkable journey.

You will be trekking the Mountain Gorillas in Volcanoes National Park, Rwanda. Gorilla trekking may require 2 to 6 hours. Rwanda contains 12 habituated groups of Mountain Gorillas distributed across the Park.

You will observe the habituated group for one hour as they engage in their daily activities, including play and feeding.

Upon your return from your hike, you will be driven back to the lodge, where you will enjoy lunch and the remainder of the day at leisure.

Day 4: GOLDEN MONKEY TREKKING

Following an early breakfast at the lodge, proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing, and subsequently drive to the trailheads for a notable experience in Volcanoes National Park: hiking the Golden Monkeys, which typically lasts four hours. Upon seeing accustomed primates and spending an hour observing their daily activities. The monkeys are inherently lively and inquisitive, thus they spend their days leaping from bamboo branches. Upon completion of the hike, you will return to the Resort for lunch and then enjoy the lodge amenities for the remainder of the day.

Day 5: FLIGHT FROM MUSANZE / VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK TO GISENYI

Following breakfast at your lodge, embark on your flight to Gisenyi, where you will meet your driver-guide for transfer to your hotel. Lake Kivu, one of Africa’s significant lakes, is situated near Rubavu, Gisenyi town, along the border between the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda. It is situated in the Albertine Rift, the western segment of the East African Rift. Lake Kivu discharges into the Ruzizi River, which flows southward into Lake Tanganyika in Tanzania. You will have the opportunity to visit the border and observe the events occurring there. Lunch, dinner, and overnight accommodation at the hotel.

Day 6: COMPLETE DAY IN GISENYI

On this day, you will engage in various aquatic sports on Lake Kivu, including kayaking, windsurfing, sport fishing, hiking, and bicycling along the coasts, among others. Post-lunch, you will unwind at the beach. Evening meal and accommodation at the hotel.

Day 7: Flight From Gisenyi To Nyungwe National Park

Following breakfast at your lodge, embark on your flight flight to Nyungwe National Park, where your driver guide will meet you for transfer to the lodge. Lunch, dinner, and overnight accommodation at the lodge.

Day 8: CHIMPANZEE TREKKING AND CANOPY WALK

Today, you will leave the lodge with a breakfast pack in your car and drive to the park headquarters for a briefing. From there, you will go to the starting spots for your hike into the forest. This excursion will showcase a diverse array of avian species and primates. You will be permitted to remain in the vicinity of the chimpanzees for one hour while observing their daily activities. You thereafter return to the lodge to recuperate and partake in lunch.

You are required to return to the park headquarters for another briefing on the canopy walk in the afternoon. On the canopy bridge, which is the only one of its kind in East Africa, you can see the forest from a breathtaking height. Enjoy dinner and a good night’s sleep.

Day 9: Colobus Monkey Expedition

Following breakfast at the Resort, proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing before commencing your Colobus Monkey hike. These primates are Old World monkeys belonging to the genus Colobus, indigenous to the African continent. They possess black bodies adorned with white fur on their necks and backs. While traversing the rainforest, one will be astonished by the substantial population; over 400 individuals constitute the largest assemblage of Angolan Colobus Monkeys in Africa. This route is less difficult than the Chimpanzee trek which frequently is. A considerable number of them may be observed at the treetops as they traverse from one branch to another. Rejoin the Resort punctually for lunch. Subsequently, devote the remainder of the day to unwinding at the Resort and availing yourself of its amenities.
