Detailed Itinerary for 8 Day | Classic (Luxury) Rwanda Safari
Day 1: Transfer to Akagera national park – Boat cruise
Depending on your pick up point within Kigali,An expert safari guide from Aloyo Safaris driver guide will meet up with you, then brief you about your 8 days Rwanda safari itinerary.
After here, he will transfer you to Akagera National Park, where you will arrive at the Park gate for clearance, then proceed to the lodge for lunch and connect for your afternoon boat cruise on Lake Ihema. You will have the chance to explore the lake and its habitants like the hippos, crocodiles and different bird species. Return to your lodge to unwind in the wild, you will also have dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Morning game drive and return to Kigali
Wake up early in the morning for breakfast, after then set off for a Northern circuit game drive to look early risers like Lions, Rhinos, Leopards, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras and many more like Antelopes and many more.
Return to the Lodge for lunch, after then connect to Kigali, with a stopover at Nyakarambi village to learn about the cow dung paintings by the Kakira women cooperative, whereby they showcase different style of decorating their houses using cow dung.
Arrive at the Lodge in the late evening for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: City tour and transfer to Nyungwe national park
On this day 3 of the 8 days Rwanda safari, You will wake up early for breakfast, after then the driver guide will then drive you to Nyungwe forest National Park with enroute visit to the Rwanda National Museum and the Nyanza cultural village where the African culture is witnessed.
You will reach in the evening where you will connect o your hotel for your dinner and overnight ret.

Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking
On this day, you will be driven to the briefing point at the Park headquarters, where you will learn about the regulations of Chimpanzee trekking, after then you will proceed to look for the chimpanzees with the park guide.
Chimpanzee trekking may take about 2 to 6 hours because they are mobile creature. On finding them, spend an hour while taking pictures and videos. From here you will return for lunch at the lodge and connect for the afternoon canopy walk on a 200m bridge suspended high so as to view the park at a birds’ eye view as well as other primates and animal within the park. Dinner will be served and overnight stay at lodge as above.
Day 5: Transfer to Lake Kivu
After breakfast, you will be driven for 6 hours to Lake Kivu in Rubavu town where you will spend your afternoon relaxing by the Lake shores, as you enjoy fresh and the cool breeze around the Lake Estimated distance 6 hours with lunch en route.
Day 6: Transfer to Musanze
Have a relaxed breakfast, and embark on exploration of the lake, by visiting the islands on a canoe ride, visit Gisenyi town where you will have your lunch then proceed to Volcanoes national park. Upon arrival in the afternoon, proceed to your lodge to rest and prepare for the next day activity.
Day 7: Gorilla trekking experience – Volcanoes national park
Very early in the morning you will have breakfast, after then depart for briefing at the Park headquarters, where the ranger guide will place you in a group of 8 people to go gorilla trekking in the light montane forest of Volcanoes national Park.
Gorilla trekking may take between 2 to 8 hours, with a compulsory hour of staying meeting face to face with the gorillas, after which you will return to the Lodge for lunch.
After your delicious lunch, you may have an optional Ibyi wacu community walk or stay relaxing at the lodge, dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Day 8: Golden monkey tracking and transfer to Lake Kivu
Following your morning breakfast, you return to Volcanoes national Park for golden Monkey. Like Mountain Gorillas, you will be briefed about the regulations for golden Monkey trekking, there after you will proceed with the park guide to trek Golden monkeys for about 2 to 5 hours with only 1 hours viewing the primates. Return to your lodge for lunch and then you will be transferred to the Kigali, where you will either dropped at your lodge or at the airport.
