This 4 days  climbing Mount Kenya Via Chogoria-sirimon route starts from the Chogoria park gate, going up through Lake Ellis camp, Mintos Camp to  Point Lenana and descends down  to Old Moses hut and finish at Sirimon park gate.This 4 days Mount Kenya climbing offers beautiful glimpse of two major  peaks of Batian and Lenana itself.

Detailed Itinerary for 4 days Mount Kenya Climbing Chogoria Sirimon Route Safari

DAY 1- Nairobi- Lake Ellis

Upon arrival, or from the Lodge, a driver guide from Aloyo safaris will pick you up, brief you about the Mount Kenya Chogoria-Sirimon climbing adventure, thereafter you will proceed to Chogoria gate park gate. You will be served lunch, then proceed for registration at the Park gate. At that instant, start your hike to Lake Ellis Camp, traversing through Hargenia forest and tussock grass, crossing streams and fisheries station on the right yet still under the beautiful Hargenia trees. From here, you will then walk at your pace as you exit the forest zone into the moorland. You will be able to glimpse spectacular views of the Mugi Hill and the Giant Billiard Table, as well as enroute visit to River Nithi and Nithi falls. Dinner and overnight rest at the camp

DAY 2 Lake Ellis-Mintos Camp/hut

Start: Lake Ellis (3455m)

Finish: Mintos Camp (4200m)

Altitude: ↑ 745m

Walking time: 6-7h

In the morning, have breakfast  and follow the trail through heather and the golden moorland, arriving after 30 minutes in one of the streams that drain into the Nithi falls- appoint where you can refill your water bottles as well as taking the first stop over. After then you will  ascend steeply, leaving Lake Ellis region and after 2-3 hours, you will reach at the junction between traditional Chogoria route and the path. It is at this point that you will have a lunch break, with beautiful scenery of Lake Michealson seen at a glance.

After lunch, continue further up to Mintos Camp, where you can see Lenana and Batian peaks on a clear day

In-case, you still have the ability to trek around, you can walk around the camp to visit the Mintos Tarn and also down to the Temple-to watch the beautiful rock formation that is situated 20 minutes beneath the camp. Return for dinner at the camp, and later on an overnight rest.

Day 3: Minto`s – Pt Lenana ( 4,985m)- Old Moses camp.

Start climbing at 03:00 am, and continue for about 3 hours up to Point Lenana (4985mreaching in time when the sun begins to rise, enjoy great moment taking photo graphs and celebrating your victory, after then slope down to Shipton’s camp for breakfast, then after another 5 hours gentle descent as you enjoy scenic beauty of the moorlands passing via Mackinder’s valley to old Moses camp (3,300m) for dinner and overnight

Start: Mintos Camp (4200m)

Finish: Point Lenana (4985m) – Shipton’s Camp (4200m) – Old Moses Camp (3300m)

Altitude: ↑ 785m ↓ 1685m

Walking time: 12-14h(24KM)

Day 4: Old Moses to Nairobi

Early in the morning, you will have breakfast, then descend for 3 hours to the Sirimon Park gate , where you will meet the driver guide who will take you back to  Nairobi.
