A Detailed 5 days Mount Kenya Climbing Naro Moru – Sirimon Route Safari

Day 1: Nairobi – Transfer to Met SatationCamp (3300m)

Leave Nairobi early in the morning with Aloyo Safaris Professional driver guide, who will drive for 3hrs from the hotel  to Naromoru town for lunch and meeting porters,cooks and guides with whom you will climb Mount Kenya.

Enroute, you will you will pass through Kikuyu rich farm land consisting of pineapple plantations and coffee. Upon arrival, you will enjoy a picnic lunch, thereafter you will be registered, then embark on your 3-4 hour day 1 hike through the vertical bog and extremely steep trail on loose gravel to Met Station (3050m), for dinner and an overnight sleep.

You will have gained an elevation of 600m

Day 2: Trek From Met Station to Mackinder’s Camp (4300m)

Duration: 5-6 hours

Distance :11km

Altitude Gain :1200m

Following an early morning breakfast, ascend up to Mackinder’s camp (4,100m), for about 4-6 hour climb through Teleki valley, enjoying spectacular views of the Batian and the Nelion peaks. You will walk through the marshy vertical bog of the lower moorlands, enjoy picnic, and continue climbing over the loose rock to the camp after an altitude gain of 1300m in 5 or 6 hours, where you will finally settle for dinner and an a goodnight rest.

Day 3  Climb Up Lenana peak-Descend Shipton’s Camp

Rise up early at 0300 hrs, and begin climbing upwards for 3-4 hours, as you pass through bara rocks and scree slopes of the Alpine region upto Lenana peak (4985m) before sun rise. Later after photography and victory celebration, descend downwards to Shipton’s camp for dinner and an overnight.

Day 4: Descend From Shipton’s Camp To Old Moses Camp

In the morning after breakfast, you will walk for about 5 yours via Mackinders valley to Old Moses’s camp where you will rest for Lunch, spend the afternoon resting or celebrating you last night of your trek.

Day 5: Depart for Nairobi

Wake in the morning for breakfast, and proceed with your hike to the park gate, where you will be awarded a certificate for your success upon reaching Lenana Peak. From here you will be met by the driver who will drive you back to Nairobi town.
