Day 1: Transfer to Bukavu Congo
From Kigali International Airport, meet our expert driver guide, who will highlight the 3 days eastern lowland gorilla trekking itinerary. Thereafter, set off for a 6-7 hours drive to Bukavu town, through Cyangugu border.
Enroute you will be amazed with the magnificent rolling hills of Rwanda, the beautiful forests along the way. While visitors from Uganda will cross through Bunagana border from Kisoro town.
Dinner and overnight rest at Hotel Horizon(Luxury) or Orchid Safari Lodge(Luxury)
Day 2: Eastern Lowland Gorilla Trekking at Kahuzi Biega national Park
Head to the park head quarters very early in the morning to register. Thereafter, you will be briefed about the rules and regulations for trekking gorillas, what to expect and how to behave when in their presence. You will then be assigned 1 out of 4 gorilla habituation groups to trek.
Eastern gorilla trekking may take between 1 to 4 hours, and upon finding them, expect to interact with them for 1 hour, so that you can take photos, and videos, as you watch them go about their daily activities.
Apart from the Eastern Gorillas, you might encounter other mammals, primates, bird species among others.
Return for lunch at the hotel, then later embark on community visit, Kibati waterfalls, Bukavu town, Mbayo tea estate among others
Return for dinner in the hotel, followed by an overnight rest.
Day 3: Depart for Kisoro or Kigali
After the break of dawn, you will have breakfast, then set off for Kigali. You will cross through changugu border, with enroute break stops at Nyanza palace, and the Butare Museum.
You will arrive in Kigali in the late afternoon.
