Detailed Itinerary For 10 Days Coastal Birding Safari Kenya
Day 1: Arrival in Mombasa
Upon arrival at Mombasa Airport, you’ll be greeted by our team and transferred to your accommodation in Mombasa city. Spend the rest of the day relaxing and preparing for your birding safari adventure.
Day 2-3: Tsavo National Park
After breakfast, depart for Tsavo National Park. Spend two full days exploring the vast savannahs and diverse habitats of Tsavo East and Tsavo West. Keep your binoculars handy as you search for a variety of bird species, including raptors, hornbills, and ostriches.
Day 4: Tana River Delta
Leave Tsavo behind and head to the Tana River Delta, a wetland ecosystem teeming with birdlife. Enjoy a boat safari along the river channels and lagoons, where you’ll have the opportunity to spot waterbirds, raptors, and migratory species.
Day 5: Arabuko-Sokoke Forest Reserve
Continue your birding adventure with a visit to Arabuko-Sokoke Forest Reserve, near Malindi. Explore the forest on guided walks, listening for the calls of endemic bird species such as the Amani sunbird, Sokoke scops owl, and Fischer’s turaco.
Day 6: Mida Creek
Head to Mida Creek, a tidal inlet surrounded by mangrove forests near Watamu. Take a boat safari along the creek, where you’ll have the opportunity to spot a variety of waterbirds and shorebirds, including crab plovers, curlew sandpipers, and flamingos.
Day 7: Watamu Marine Park

Day 9: Return to Mombasa

Day 10: Departure
