Detailed Itinerary For 7 Days Safari In Burundi

Day #1: Arrival-Transfer To Hotel

Upon Landing at Bujumbura International Airport, you will meet your Burundi Driver guide who will transfer you to your booked accommodation.  The 7 day  Burundi Itinerary  starts an afternoon Bujumbura city tour to visit the Hero-mausoleum & Unity Monument, explorers Memorial in the suburbs where several explores such as Livingstone & Stanley met , Belvedere which displays a spectacular view of the entire Lake Tanganyika, and the Islam Culture Center.

Day #2:  Historical Tour to Kiganda Royal Grounds

Have breakfast, then set off for Kibira National Park, along which you will visit Teza tea fields.  Proceed thereafter to Kiganda royal gardens, one among the historical sanctuaries with information about the treaty  between the Germans & King Mwezigisabo who was the traditional leader during the colonial days.  From here, you will head to the royal inauguration grounds,  several rulers including MutagaMbikije & MweziGisabo had their clubs. This place offers an exclusive chance  to walk over the remarkable, well maintained royal grounds of Burundi.

Day #3:Gishora Drum Sanctuary – Gitega National Museum

Breakfast will be served early, then proceed to explore  the Gishora Drum Sanctuary, the Burundi National Museum, the catholic Village of Mushasha, , the ancient colonial-era administrative buildings, , the BUDECA coffee factory, and the catholic Village.

Day #4:Karera Falls.

Wake early for breakfast, and proceed  to Rutana  to explore the spectacular Karera waterfalls, then to Makamba to see Agasimbo dancers, who usually present traditional dances of the Southern Nyanza regions. You will then spend an overnight at Nyanza-Lac.

Day #5: Rumonge Natural Reserve-Muhweza Hot Springs

Set off early in the morning for Nyanza Lac Fishing hamlet  and Button Speke memorial exploration, then proceed to Rumonge Natural Reserve for Monkey trekking & bird watching, and finish with a visit the Muhweza hot springs, as well as palm oil industry.

Overnight will be at Tanganyika Blue Bay Resort.

Day #6:Explore the Source Of The Nile.

After an early breakfast,  head to source of Nile River, to see where Wold’s longest river  starts.  Thereafter,  journey back to Bujumbura, whereby you will visit Mugamba Family’s home en-route, so as to experience their daily way of living, arriving at Club du Lc Tanganyika or the Safari Gate Hotel.

Day #7:Airport Departure

On the 7th day of 7 days Burundi Safari Itinerary, you will checkout of the hotel, after the morning breakfast, then proceed to the crafts shop to purchase a few souvenirs, then after to Bujumbura International Airport.
