Game drives in Akagera National Park
Akagera National Park offers both day and night game drives. Viewing the Big 5 out of the 8000 large animal species, is the key activity in any Rwanda Safari. Visitors on a day game viewing drive have the opportunity to spot numerous animals including Lions, Zebras, Elephants, Leopards, Giraffes, Rhinos, Buffaloes, Antelopes, impalas, topis. While it is also possible for visitors to go for night game drives, where hyenas, busha babies, serval cats, civets can be spotted.
Day game drives in Akagera National Park can be done are done for 3 hours, either from 7:30-9:00 am in the morning, or from 2:00pm -5:00pm in the evening, at a cost of $30 per person, while the Night game drives for about 2 hours costs $40 person.
Boat trips/Cruise on Akagera National Park.
Boat cruse trips are an excellent way to enjoy the breathtaking views the park offers. Lake Ihema is the second largest Lake in Rwanda, which offers beautiful sights of wild game like Hippos, crocodiles, plus large population of Elephants, Buffaloes and several bird species like America Dipper, Billon’s crake, African Fishe eagle, Africa jacana, great cormorant, .

With them, you will learn about what made them flee from their ancestral home in Tanzania to their present refugee village.
