Day 1: Arrival (Pick up) – Transfer  For A Cultural Tour and Rusizi National Park

Your private driver guide will pick you up in the Morning from Bujumbura International Airport, for the first visit to Rusizi National Park, where upon reaching, you will proceed for an awe-inspiring boat cruise in Rusizi River.

Expect to come up close with hippos, several species of birds, and the convergence of River Rusizi & Lake Tanganyika. Continue afterwards for the Belvedere climb – which displays magnificent views of Bujumbura city, the independence hero monument, the explorer’s  memorial and the notable rock which honors the historic meeting point of famous  explores Stanley & Livingstone.

Arrive at your hotel of accommodation in the evening for dinner and overnight rest.

 

Day 2: Visit the Source of the Nile and Waterfalls – Gitega Town

Breakfast will be served early at the hotel, afterwards, you will continue towards the Source of River Nile closeby Karera Falls, navigating spectacular tea plantations and applauding the scenic landscape. From here, continue to Gitega, the former capital of Burundi to explore the Gitega National Museum, administrative offices, and the Catholic location of Mushasha, as well as various schools.

Have dinner and sleepover at your booked accommodation in Gitega.

Day 3: Gitega-Gishora Drum Tour

Have breakfast and proceed to visit the Gishora Drum Sanctuary, Burundi’s renowned drum sites. The sanctuary contains two ritual drums of Ruciteme and Murimirwa, which represents the king’s farming vocation and fertility. Enjoy the ancient Burundi cultural tradition at the drum sanctuary, with enroute lunch in Gitega town.

Spend your afternoon exploring the city’s colonial architecture and the national museum with ethnographic and archaeological collection, then after return to Bujumbura for an overnight stay at your hotel
