Volcanoes National Park Rwanda

Location: Northwestern Rwanda, bordering Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Highlights:

Mountain Gorillas: The park is home to a significant population of endangered mountain gorillas. Trekking to see these majestic creatures is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Dian Fossey Tomb: The park houses the Karisoke Research Center, established by the renowned primatologist Dian Fossey.

Nyungwe Forest National Park Rwanda

Location: Southwestern Rwanda, near the border with Burundi.

Highlights:

Primates: Nyungwe National Park is one of the oldest rain forests in Africa and is home to 13 primate species, including chimpanzees and Ruwenzori colobus monkeys.

Canopy Walkway: The park features East Africa’s only canopy walkway, offering breathtaking views of the forest.

Biodiversity: The park is a biodiversity hot spot, with over 1,000 plant species, 300 bird species, and 120 butterfly species.
