Day 1: Arrival – Kigali International Airport
Upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport, a guide from Aloyo Safaris will greet you, provide details on the 12 Days Luxury Rwanda Flying Safari, and transport you to the Kigali Marriott Hotel for check-in, dinner, and overnight accommodation.
Day 2: Kigali City Tour – Transfer to Akagera National Park
Following a relaxed breakfast, you will embark on a Kigali City tour, including a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial Center to learn about Rwandan history. Subsequently, following lunch, you will go on a picturesque journey to Akagera National Park. During a private boat journey, you will observe a range of species of birds and aquatic animals while appreciating the landscape surrounding Lake Ihema. Subsequently, you will proceed to Magashi Camp, where you will dine and overnight.
Day 3: Wildlife Safari in Akagera National Park
After eating breakfast early, go to the park’s headquarters to get an insider’s view at the park’s history, the establishment of the conservancy, and the animals.
A local ranger will subsequently guide you on a wildlife tour across the park, allowing you to observe wild animals and species of birds in the northern region. Return to Magashi Camp to spend the night after dinner.
Day 4: Comprehensive Game Drive in Akagera National Park
Following a morning cup of coffee, you will join a local ranger for a wildlife drive in the northern plains of Akagera National Park. Upon returning to the inn, you will have breakfast and thereafter check out. You will subsequently return to the northern region of the park for another game drive with a local ranger to observe animals (picnic lunch provided). Post-dinner, proceed to Karenge Bush Camp for overnight accommodation.
Day 5: Flight Transfer to Nyungwe National Park
Following a relaxed breakfast, embark on a VIP flight journey to Nyungwe Forest National Park. Upon arrival at the One & Only Nyungwe house, you will complete the check-in process and partake in lunch. Relax at the lodge in the afternoon. Participation is available in on-site activities such as a bicycle tour, conservation walk, conservation boot camp, African tea exploration, and hilltop archery. Dine and remain overnight.
Day 6: Chimpanzee Expedition in Nyungwe National Park
Commence with breakfast in the morning, followed by a visit to the park office to meet your local ranger and undergo training. To locate the chimpanzees in the rain forest, you will traverse the forest accompanied by a local ranger and porters. Post-lunch, return to the resort prior to visiting a tea estate, where you may taste various teas and have high tea.
Day 7: Canopy Walk Experience and Helicopter Transfer to Musanze
After an early breakfast, you will proceed to Uwinka Park, where you may partake in a two-hour walk through the forest and explore the 90-meter-long canopy bridge.
Subsequently, go on a helicopter journey to Volcanoes National Park following lunch at the Lodge. Arrive well in advance for dinner and an overnight stay at One & Only Gorilla Nest Lodge.
Day 8: Gorilla Trekking Expedition
Consume breakfast promptly prior to traveling to the Volcanoes National Park offices for the briefing. You will track the gorillas upon entering the forest; once located, you will have up to one hour to observe and photograph them.
The One & Only Gorilla Nest Lodge will serve lunch prior to your excursion to the Gorilla Guardian community. Relax at the lodge in the afternoon. Partake in dinner and remain overnight.
Day 9: Golden Monkey Trekking – Transfer to Lake Kivu
Following an early breakfast, you will proceed to the Volcanoes National Park offices for a briefing on the Golden Monkey Trekking. Subsequently, you will venture into the bush in search of golden monkeys. Following your climb, you will proceed to Lake Kivu in Gisenyi. Relax on the beach in the afternoon following lunch at the Kivu Serena Hotel. The Kivu Serena Hotel will provide your accommodation and dining for the evening.
Day 10: Beach at Lake Kivu – Rubavu
Following a relaxed breakfast, embark on a walking tour of Gisenyi City. Pause for lunch at Paradis Malahides, followed by an afternoon of kayaking on Lake Kivu. Revisit the Kivu Serena Hotel for a lakeside bonfire and performances by a cultural group. Partake in dinner and sleep over.
Day 11: Journey to Kigali
You will enjoy lunch at Khana Khazana prior to embarking on a scenic ride to Kigali City following your morning meal. Shopping is available throughout the afternoon at CAPLAKI Village and Kimironko Market. Dinner will be provided at Ubumwe Grande Hotel, where you will also spend the night.
