Day 7: GORILLA TREKKING AND CULTURAL EXCURSION

Day 8: GOLDEN MONKEY TREKKING

You thereafter return to the lodge to recuperate and partake in lunch.

While traversing the rainforest, you will be astonished by their substantial population; over 400 individuals constitute the greatest assemblage of Angolan Colobus Monkeys in Africa. Day 14: ISUMO WATERFALL TREK

After breakfast, you’ll go to the park offices to get some information. Then, you’ll go to the place where your hike starts. This is the path typically traversed by tourists visiting Nyungwe National Park. This trail spans 10.6 kilometres, including the road part, and requires approximately 4 hours to complete. It starts at the reception area of Uwinka and Gisakura.

This walk traverses tea plantations leading to the spectacular waterfalls for which it is called, Isumo. The term “Isumo” is a colloquial expression signifying waterfall. This trail has a minimum elevation of 1770 meters and a maximum elevation of 1940 meters above sea level. The trail is classified as moderate for hiking.
