Day 7: GORILLA TREKKING AND CULTURAL EXCURSION

The monkeys are inherently lively and inquisitive, thus they spend their days leaping from bamboo branches. It is currently located in Musanze town. This document provides information on projects aimed at the conservation of the Mountain Gorilla and its essential habitat. Day 12: Chimpanzee Trekking and Canopy Walk
On this day, you will leave the Resort with a packed breakfast, drive to the park headquarters for a briefing, and then go to the entry points into the forest. This excursion will showcase a diverse array of species of birds and primates. You will be permitted to remain in the vicinity of the chimpanzees for one hour while observing their daily activities. You thereafter return to the lodge to recuperate and partake in lunch.
In the afternoon, you will return to the park headquarters for a briefing on the canopy walk. Explore the forest from a breathtaking vantage point on the canopy walkway, the sole structure of its sort in East Africa. Evening meal and accommodation for the night.

Day 13: Colobus Monkey Expedition
Following breakfast at the Resort, proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing before commencing your Colobus Monkey trek. These primates are Old World monkeys belonging to the genus Colobus, indigenous to the African continent. They possess black fur complemented with white fur on their necks and backs. While traversing the rainforest, you will be astonished by their substantial population; over 400 individuals constitute the greatest assemblage of Angolan Colobus Monkeys in Africa. This walk is less difficult than the Chimpanzee trek often is. A considerable number of them may be observed at the treetops as they traverse from one branch to another. Rejoin the Resort punctually for lunch. Subsequently, devote the remainder of the day to unwinding at the Resort and using its amenities.

Day 14: ISUMO WATERFALL TREK
After breakfast, you’ll go to the park offices to get some information. Then, you’ll go to the place where your hike starts. This is the path typically traversed by tourists visiting Nyungwe National Park. This trail spans 10.6 kilometres, including the road part, and requires approximately 4 hours to complete. It starts at the reception area of Uwinka and Gisakura.
This walk traverses tea plantations leading to the spectacular waterfalls for which it is called, Isumo. The term “Isumo” is a colloquial expression signifying waterfall. This trail has a minimum elevation of 1770 meters and a maximum elevation of 1940 meters above sea level. The trail is classified as moderate for hiking. Evening meal and accommodation at your hotel.
