Best Time to Visit Akagera National Park.

Best time of the year to Visit Akagera National Park Rwanda is  June to September, and December to March, which are the two dry season in the Country. Yet, Akagera National Park can be visited anytime throughout the year. However, the wet season between April to May, and October to November is also the best time to visit Akagera National Park for bird watching safaris, not forgetting the  discounted offers on accommodations.

Annually, Akagera National Park Rwanda undergoes two(2)  dry seasons & two(2) wet seasons, whereby wildlife junkies flock into the country for wildlife game watching drives & boat rides in Lake Ihema during the dry months of January, February, June, July, August, September & December, although, others may consider the wet months April, May, October & November, so as to catch sight of Numerous bird species. Despite the fact that visiting Akagera National Park depends entirely on one’s itinerary, generally the best time to visit is usually July – August (peak time) when animals gather at water points to cool, because it gets extremely hot.

When it comes dry/peak season, most animals stay around the Lake Ihema shoreline, providing impressive game sights. Although Akagera is worth visiting all year round, the months of June, July and August are particularly good times.

The best time to visit Akagera National Park is the dry (peak) season from June to September for the best game viewing drives, walking safari, plus boat cruise/ride safari conditions for better visibility. Vegetation is scarce at this time of year, making animals easier to spot and find, whereas the permanent water sources offer an ultimate safari experience in the Akagea National Park because it allows for animals to gather and get filled.
