Day To Day Itinerary For 19 Days | Uganda Safari

Day 1: Welcome to Uganda

On this 1st day of the 19 days Uganda Safari, our company driver guide will pick you up from Entebbe International Airport , brief you about your safari itinerary and later on drop you at the lodge for dinner and an overnight.

Day 2: Drive to Lake Mburo National Park

After Breakfast, the driver guide will transfer you to Lake Mburo national park, in 3-4 hours drive from Kampala town. Along the way, you will stop at the equator for an experiential experiment to detect the tropical balance between the Southern and the Northern hemisphere; observe the traditional gadgets items from the crafts shop like the traditional drums, crafts and proceed to Lake Mburo national Park- a park with a large herd of  zebras, impala, eland and much more. The destination is an excellent place for avid birders.

Day 3: Explore Lake Mburo National Park.

Have breakfast early and leave for a game drive to look for wild game such as Zebras, impalas, topis, buffalos, elands, and the many birds the park has to offer. The nature of the surrounding makes it an impressive  ground for avid birders, with about 313 bird species recorded like the rare shoebill, white winged wardler among others.

 

Return to the lodge  for lunch, after then you will leave for your afternoon adventure of the launch cruise in a boat. This is an amazing boat ride which gives you incredible opportunities to glimpse water animals like Crocodiles, Hippopotamus and water birds including; Fish Eagles, Pelicans, Black crake, Heron, Cormorant, and the rare shoebill stork. Return then to your lodge for a relaxed evening, dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park

Set off for Mgahinga Gorilla National Park after breakfast with an enroute guided nature walk after then your driver guide will pick you up and drive direct to Kisoro through the Southwestern region with an enroute lunch.

Mgahinga gorilla national park, is famed for its 3 distinct volcanoes that are usually hiked as well as rare mountain gorillas.  You will arrive in the late afternoon in the lodge, where you will have dinner and enough rest.

Day 5:  Sabyinyo hike (366m)

After your morning breakfast routine, proceed to the trail head to kick start your morning hike to three volcanic peaks. The first climb to the peak takes up a ridge along the Eastern side of the climb to the peak.

19 Days Uganda SafariThe second peak hike involves walking on a ridge with impressive drops into gorges of Uganda and Rwanda, after which you will rest, before proceeding with your hike to the top peak of the third volcano. The 3rd peak is steep with ladders and much scrambling. The triple volcano experience is quite strenuous but it’s worth the hike. The hike lusts for about 8-10 hours to finish the 14km stretch depending on your physical strength and speed. You are advised to carry along plenty of drinking water, warm clothing, rain gear for your hike due to the weather change. Dinner and an overnight at your lodge

Day 6: Gorilla tracking Mgahinga National Park

Wake early before 6:00am, do your morning administration, have breakfast and drive to the information center for gorilla tracking briefing by the park warden and rangers before 7:30am.

The rangers will then lead your group to the Forest to look for the popular mountain gorillas. The trek will lust for about 2- 8 hours depending on family and how far the gorillas have moved from the position they were left the previous day. The time spent on your encounter is at most an hour, after then you will be required to return to headquarters to pick  your mountain gorilla trekking certificate and  join your hotel for lunch. In case of long hour trekking, then you will advised to carry water and packed lunch. Dinner and an overnight at your lodge.

Day 7: Mgahinga national park to Bwindi impenetrable National park

After breakfast, Cross through the forest from the southern sector to Buhoma sector-a more developed area in the northern sector of Bwindi Impenetrable national Park. You will enjoy the beautiful sights of bird and primate life in the forest. The region harbors about 348 bird species of birds and that are endemic to the Albertine Rift. Arrive in the lodge at the perfect time for lunch and go for a perfect local community visit to the Batwa Cultural Experience where you will learn more about their life history. The Batwa pygmies are a group of people confined in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

It is also one of the interesting cultural activities that draws every traveler’s attention. They were referred to as, “Keepers of the Forest” due to their nature of living since they survived by hunting, gathering fruits and plant stems from the forest.  On your visit you will learn more about the culture. You can also spend more time observing more of their activities.

Day 8: Bwindi impenetrable forest to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After an early breakfast, you head for an early morning gorilla trekking expedition, then after drive to Queen Elizabeth National park, passing through the Isasha sector famed for its tree climbing lions.  If your e ucky enough you will be able to spot the tree climbing lions as you proceed toward the northern part of the park for  to check in your hotel, there after you will have dinner and an overnight.

Day 9: Morning Game Drive and afternoon boat cruise

Head for the morning game drive, immediately after your morning game drive along Kasenyi track, in search for your favorite wild game.

You have high opportunities of spotting Lions, buffalos, Elephants, Mangoose, kobs and many more not forgetting the different bird species as well. Return to the lodge for a rest and lunch.  You will then set off for another exciting boat cruise after your lunch break on the Kazinga channel, which as well gives you brilliant opportunities awesome photography, other wild game, and bird watching.

Day 10: Vist Tooro Kingdom, and crater Lakes(Cultural Experience)

On this 10th day of the 19 days Uganda Safari, you will be transferred to Kibale forest national Park for another memorable day of life that you will never forget. While driving, you will  visit Tooro Kingdom palace, a kingdom with the youngest king. You will be briefed about the Tooro culture, and History, then after you will proceed for your lunch in fort portal. Head for the breathtaking Scenery of the Crater lakes and then arrive at your hotel for dinner and an overnight

Day 11: Chimpanzee tracking experience plus Bigodi Nature Walk

After breakfast, you will drive to Kibale National Park Headquarters for briefing about Chimpanzee trekking & tracking rules and Regulations. You will be assigned a small groups of 8  people headed by one experienced ranger guide with whom you will walk into the forest to find one of the Chimpanzee families.

Chimpanzees live in communities comprising of 50-150 individuals but usually breakup into small parties during the day to reduce competition on food. They will then gather together in the evening to build their nests. Once you find the Chimps, you will be allowed to spend at most one hour with the Chimps before returning to the lodge for lunch. After lunch, you will set off for your wetland walk in the nearby Bigodi Village. Kibale National Park is famous for 13 primates species and numerous bird species.

Day 12: Kibale Forest National Park – Murchison Falls National Park

Drive to Murchison falls National park, after your hearty breakfast. You have a full day drive via the Albertine Escarpment of the Western Rift Valley, through the verdant countryside traditional homestead. You can opt to visit and explore the top of the falls after checking into your lodge. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 13: Exploring Murchison Falls National Park

After morning breakfast, you will head for the game drive along the northern bank to look for animals like   lions, leopards, giraffes, oribis, elephants, Jackson’s hartebeests, Uganda kobs, buffaloes and bird species. Return to your lodge in time for lunch and relax preparing for yet another incredible activity in the afternoon.

Exclusive Game Viewing drive in Murchison Falls National Park

After lunch, transfer for a three hours boat ride on the Nile River to the bottom of falls where you will have the opportunity to glimpse animals like; crocodiles, hippos, in the water  while  the other animals like  buffaloes, waterbucks, and elephants  will be seen on the river bank grazing and drinking water. You can have an option to hike to the top of the falls. Return to your lodge for a relaxed evening, dinner and overnight.

Day 14: Delta Boat Trip

You will head for a 4 to 5 hours boat trip to the Delta area famed for its high populations of wildlife, immediately after morning breakfast. View Elephants, Buffaloes, Bushbucks, Lions, and a variety of bird species. You can either decide to relax at the poolside at your lodge or just rest in your room for the afternoon.

Day 15: Murchison falls  to  Kampala

Here is another day to make your own decision. You can either choose to drive back to Kampala town or catch up with the Kampala city tour or, visit the top of the falls, in case you missed these moments on the day you arrived ,then later proceed to Kampala. Check in for dinner and overnight in your lodge.

Day 16: Jinja excursion

After your breakfast, you will drive to Jinja to visit to the Source of the Nile; You will then  drive via Mabira rainforest with an opportunity to take an en route visit to the spectacular Sezibwa falls, a spiritual and cultural center where many natives are believed to visit for blessings, wealth, and fortunes. A traditional healer performs ceremonies for those seeking love, children, a successful business deal or a good harvest. The falls are endowed with sharp edged rocks, magnificent sound of soothing waters flowing down the steep ridged stones, herbal trees and a sizable number of bird species recorded. Proceed to the Lodgefor dinner and an overnight at your hotel.

Day 17: White Water Rafting

The morning session starts at 9am.  After breakfast, You will join your fellow rafters for registration and the briefing, after which  you will be given life jackets, helmets , paddles and other rafting gear.

2 Days White water raftingRafting on the Nile, may continue for upto 4 hour, after then you will break off for lunch in the middle of the water. Half day rafters can stop at this point and either head for other activities like; quad biking, horse riding or bungee jumping. Each activity takes one hour.

While full day rafters, proceed with their rafting till evening.  After completing the activities, you will drive back to your hotel in Kampala for dinner and overnight,

18: Ngamba island half day tour.

On this day, you will head to Ngamba island chimpanzee sanctuary where you will have the opportunity to view and optionally participate in the feeding of these orphaned and rescued chimpanzees, after witnessing these chimps feed, you will return to the main land and transfer to your hotel in Kampala for dinner and overnight.

Day 19: Airport transfer.

Depending on your flight time, Your personal driver guide will drop you at the Entebbe International Airport for your flight back home.
