Complete 10 days Primates & Wildlife Safari in 10 Days

Day 1: Pickup from Kampala or Entebbe – Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi.

You will be up early for morning breakfast, then an expert & hospitable driver guide  will pick you up for a transfer to Kibale Forest National Park, from Kampala/Entebbe. You will arrive in perfect time for lunch in the Hotel after check in.

Spend the whole afternoon, the entire afternoon at leisure, then wind up with dinner and an overnight.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale Forest National Park

Be up early for breakfast, followed by a transfer to the park headquarters of Kanyanchu Visitors Center for briefing about the regulations of Chimpanzee tracking.

In a group of 8, you will be led to the forest to look for chimpanzees, which may take between 2-8 hours depending on  how far the chimpanzees may have moved and the groups physical strength.

On finding them, you will interact with them face to face for 1 complete hour, after which you will return to the visitors center to pick your chimpanzee tracking certificate.

Later in the Afternoon, the driver will take you to visit the Bigodi wetlands sanctuary for a nature walk and bird watching. The Bigodi swamp is a natural home for the best spots of best bird watching spots in Uganda. Expect to see small monkeys, butterflies and much more.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Following your breakfast, hop into the 4×4 safari jeep for a transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park, as you pass through the mystical Rwenzori Mountains, arriving early for lunch.

After lunch, head for an afternoon boat safari on Kazinga channel-a perfect way to enjoy water, animals, birds and photography and watch other animals, where you will be able to sight wildlife like the lions, Elephants, Buffaloes, Kobs, Topi, water bucks and  several bird species

Day 4:  Morning Game drive & Afternoon

The day will start with  a 2 hours game viewing drive in  Queen Elizabeth national park, through the Isasha sector. The Isasha sector is popular for the famous tree climbing lions.

Have lunch, and after  proceed to Kyambura Gorge for a nature walk, one of the tremendous wonders of Uganda, which  has a forest beneath. The kyambura gorge is a home to creatures like the chimpanzees, Baboons, monkeys, hippos and birds. You will also glimpse the rare birds, trees and plants that have evolved to grow within the gorge.  The guide will take you back to the lodge, after the kyambura gorge visit.

Day 5:Visit Maramagambo forest – Salt mining in Lake Katwe – Transfer to Bwindi national park

 

Wake up early and take breakfast as you wait for the driver to take you on an inspiring event at Lake Katwe to see how the locals mine salt and how they benefit from it. This is a good time to integrate with the local, afterwards you will be taken for a nature walk at the Maramagambo forest where you will visit the Bat caves and the pythons that feed on them from an unseen platform. Besides the bats and pythons, you might also encounter red-tailed monkeys, other primates, chimpanzees (not habituated), pygmy antelopes etc. You will also see the crater Lakes – Nyamasingiri and Kyasanduka.  Later in the afternoon,  the driver guide will transfer you to Bwindi Impenetrable national park.

Day 6: Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest – Visit to the Batwa Pygmies


Fascinating Gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Wake up early for your breakfast! Thereafter, along with your packed lunch, head with the driver guide Bwindi National Park’s headquarters for registration and join other trekkers in a briefing about the rules and the regulations during your Gorilla Trekking at 7:45 am. The briefing covers many topics including how to behave around the gorillas, what to expect and what to carry along while tracking the gorillas. You will be assigned a gorilla family taking into consideration your overall fitness and age. This is because some of the gorilla groups are found deeper in the forest hence requiring more You will be led by an experienced driver guide to  trek through thick creepers and undergrowth to search for the Gorillas, which can take you 2 to 8 hours of the day. The steeply forested landscape is magnificently thick but crisscrossed by various animal trails allowing access to tourists.

Once you find them, take as much photos as you can because, you will allowed to interact with them for only 1 hour, after which you will return to the headquarters for your certificates.

After Lunch, embarks your next journey to Lake Bunyonyi, for dinner and an overnight rest.

Day 7 Proceed to Lake Bunyony

You will be up for breakfast, followed by several activities for you to get involved such as canoeing, boat rides,  guided nature walks in the islands, Zip lining as well as bird watching…

Day 8: Transfer to Lake Mburo

Take a relaxed breakfast, then after  make your way out of Lake Bunyonyi for Lake Mburo National Park– the smallest savanna national park in Uganda. Enroute, you will have lunch, while dinner & Overnight at the hotel.

Day 9: Explore Lake Mburo

Breakfast will be served early, thereafter you will proceed for game viewing drives in the savannah plains of Lake Mburo National Park. You will also see 5  small lakes, as well as animals like: Hyenas, Zebras, buffaloes, hyenas, topis while the afternoon boat cruise welcomes you with a cool breeze of the Lake, while you spot Zebras, birds, fish eagle, crocodiles, elands. Return for dinner and an overnight rest

Day 10: Game drives and return to Nairobi.

Day 10 starts with a cup of tea, before proceeding for a game drive among several  wild animals as you exit the park. Leave  Lake Mburo National Park  for Kampala/Entebbe, to be dropped at your preferred drop off point of either booked accommodation or at the Entebbe International Airport.
