Detailed Itinerary For 11 days Rwenzori Gorilla Trekking & White Water Rafting
Day #1: Arrival at Entebbe airport & transfer to Jinja
You will be met by Aloyo Safaris expert & experienced driver guide who will pick you up from Entebbe international airport, or from your accommodation in Entebbe/Kampala. You will be briefed about your11 days Rwenzori Gorillas & Water Rafting Itinerary, then after proceed to Jinja. With the driver guide, you will proceed to Jinja, as you enjoy the beautiful scenes of Lake Victoria from the road and getting your first sights of Uganda.
Check into the hotel, relax as you wait for dinner & overnight at your hotel in Jinja.
Day #2: White water rafting on the Nile River—Boat cruise to the source of the Nile
Day 2 of the 11 days Rwenzori Gorillas & Water Rafting itinerary, starts with a delicious breakfast from the lodge, followed by a transfer to the point where all rafters meet for briefing. At the source of the Nile, you will enjoy white water rafting , which is one of the memorable adventure safari activities in Jinja.
You will enjoy half day rafting and then proceed for lunch.Take a boat ride on the source of the Nile, after lunch, the return to the hotel for dinner & an overnight.
Day #3: Depart For Kasese(Nyakalengija)
On day 3, you will depart for Kasese with an en-route stop over at the equator for photography and lunch in Fort portal. You will enjoy the magnificent landscapes in the villages and tea-plantations passing by the windows. Thereafter, proceed to your reserved accommodation for dinner & overnight.
Day #4: Rwenzori hiking through Montane Forest Zone To Sine Hut
Wake up for breakfast, then head to the park headquarters for briefing by the park wardens about the steps that must be followed when hiking/trekking or climbing the Rwenzori mountains along the Kilembe Trail.
Your trek thereafter begins with walking through the Afro montane forest zone and the climb. This climb may take approximately 6km , which traverses through the steep rim next to the sine hut which is adjacent to the hut and the beautiful Enock waterfalls. You will have dinner & a restful night at Sine Hut on the Rwenzori Mountains.
Day #5: Rwenzori hiking through Bamboo zone to small lobelia garden
On this day 5 of the 11 days Rwenzori Gorillas & Water Rafting, have morning breakfast, then embark on your hike through the Bamboo zone and head to Kalalama camp, where you will pose to rest & refresh, followed by a steep climb up before crossing a thick forest covered with hanging mosses to a small lobelia garden. Finish the trek with a descent through a mossy ridge to Samalira camp for dinner and a night rest.
Day #6: Return to the base and journey to Queen Elizabeth national park
You will wake up early for breakfast, thereafter, descend down through the bamboo zone on the lush forested edge along the same route. Chances are that, you might encounter many species of primates like the black and white Colobus monkeys, baboons and bird species among many other forest dwellers (if lucky ), then to the base camp where you will find your safari guide, with whom you will transfer to your booked lodge at Queen Elizabeth national park. Dinner and an overnight at your reserved lodge.
Day #7: Morning Game drive and boat cruise at the Kazinga channel
A sumptuous breakfast will be served early in the morning, followed by a morning game drive in the park to catch up with cats from hunting, and other animals including lions, elephants, leopards, Uganda kobs, water bucks, warthogs, buffaloes, giant forest hogs among others. Return to the lodge for mid breakfast and lunch, then take a drive to Kazinga channel for a launch cruise. The 2 hours boat cruise on the Kazinga channel introduces you to numerous animal species including schools of hippos and crocodiles, buffaloes and elephants as well as birds along the shoreline. After here, return back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight.
Day #8: Another game drive in Queen Elizabeth (Experiential).
Take an experiential drive to Track for Lions, Leopards & Hyena in their hiding . You will spend a full day in the bush searching for the cats.

Day #9: Transfer to Bwindi National park
You will wake up early for breakfast, and leave for Bwindi Impenetrable national Park via the Ishasha sector of the park, well known for its tree climbing lions. Chances are that you might spot them on fig trees or tree blanches. You will reach Bwindi impenetrable National park, to check in your booked lodge. Dinner will be served, then later have a peaceful night rest, so as to make it up early for the endangered mountain gorilla trekking the following day.
Day #10: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi national park
Report early for briefing at Buhoma sector headquarters of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will be required to present your passport and gorilla trekking permit for registration and verification, then attend the briefing, where you will be allocated a gorilla family to be tracked by your group (only 8 people), and ranger guide who will guide you.
Along with the guide, enter into the thick forest to look for the Mountain gorillas. Gorilla trekking time schedule varies, that it may take between 2 to 8 hours, depending on the group’s physical movement & strength, Gorilla family, and how far the Gorillas may have moved from the previous position of the day before.
On finding the gorillas, utilize the one hour allowed for you to stay with the gorillas in their natural home. After then, return to the park headquarters for your gorilla trekking certificate, thereafter you will return to the lodge to relax.

Day #11: Depart for Entebbe
After breakfast, embark on your journey back to Entebbe international Airport for your flight back to your country, as you make break stops for lunch and the Equator crossing for photography, it’s where the northern and southern hemispheres meet.
